Start With a Coaching Program

Are you trying to start an information business online? Perhaps you are getting frustrated because you don't know what people will buy, or you have created a few products and sales are slow.

I recommend that instead you focus on creating a coaching program.

Here's why: although people settle for buying products to teach them what to do, in most cases they are disappointed because although they have the information, unless they also have access to you to ask questions, and keep them on track, almost everyone falls short of actually using the information in your books or audio programs.

However, if you first enroll clients in a coaching program based on their needs, you will be able to help them get the success they are looking for. Because of the initial success you get your clients, they will continue to work with you in the future, both in coaching, and through purchasing additional products and learning materials.

The key idea here really is the concept that people are looking for solutions, not products. And rarely will your products actually get people results. Think about it. Most people don't read past the first chapter in your book. Most people don't listen past the first CD in your audio course. So of course they aren't going to get results.

However, with coaching it's different. Each week you offer a new lesson, and each week they have a new chance to take action. The key is taking action, and one time purchases just aren't that good at inspiring action. Think about your own buying and consumption patterns.

Perhaps you've been buying products to try to learn how to do things online. But you haven't gotten the results you want. If you had, you wouldn't be searching the internet and finding this article and reading this article. You would have the answers instead of looking for them.

But if instead you were enrolled in a coaching program where you received weekly lessons and accountability, you would likely be getting more results. And the same thing is true for your own buyers. It's coaching clients, not product buyers, that get results in working with you. So why not simply offer what works, what gets people results? Plus, you make more money with coaching. That's right, you can charge more for your coaching than you can for your information products. Because of the results. And the more results you get your clients, the longer they'll stay with you. And the longer they stay with you the more money you make.
